Credit Score

Hi everyone I am new to this forum so not really sure where I should post this. I am in the process of clearing up my rather messy credit file and I am now nearly there :T I have a default that will be removed on 29/04/10 and then I have three credit files that are up to date and all running ok. My question is that I would like to take out a loan (from a bank) and am presuming that once this default has been removed that my credit score should improve (at the moment it is 780 and Fair) my only question is that can i be penalised for holding old accounts with my husband (no live ones and have had no financial association with him for at leas 5 years learnt my lesson a long while ago :)) It still records these on my file as me being financially associated with him. ANy advice would be greatly appreciated. I have already filled out a form and sent it to experian. Do I have to fill one out for all three agencies or do they share info. Thanks

Your credit score is not 780. There is no such thing.
So called credit scores sold by Experian and Equifax are just random numbers. They are not used by lenders when assessing your suitablilty for credit. Save your money, don't pay for them. You just need the £2 statutory report.

If your credit history is showing a financial link which is no longer in force, you can try asking the credit company to remove it (or the company that reported the link). If this fails, you can put a notice of correction on your file to explain that this is an old link with your ex etc.

The credit agencies do not share info so you will have to do this for each one.
