Re-Opened Car Insurance claim after 6 months

Hi everyone...
I hope I've posted this in the correct place as I'm pretty new to the forum.
Hoping you guys can give me a bit of advice.
A lady reversed into me in Nov 2008. I battled against 50/50 for ages before her insurance finally backed down in Oct 2009 and the case was closed.
Now this morning my car insurance company have written to me to say they have re opened the case and are going to settle 50/50. They have told me they haven't any new evidence but have received some repair documents (which they had already)
To me this is unfair because they haven't anything new, how can they backtrack and re-open a case which was closed?
By the way I was stationary when the accident happened but the lady lied through her teeth and said I drove into her as she was reversing.
Any comments would be appreciated
Thanks!

Contact your insurer and make a complaint. The handler might not have read the file notes correctly/completely or similar.0

When her insurer settled your claim in full (instead of 50/50) they effectively prevented her from pursuing a claim against you. You need to make sure your insurers understand that you have been compensated in full by her insurers and that the woman is simply trying it on.
Also ask them to reinstate your NCD as well.0 -
If liability was established and there's no new evidence, I don't see how they can then reopen it and propose a 50/50 settlement to be honest!
I hate how people lie to their insurer to try get out of a sticky situation, just tell the through people! (On about the other lady)0 -
I sympathise with your situation, I was involved in what sounds like a very similar incident about 10 days ago. Other driver reversed into my stationary car and is now claiming I drove forwards into their stationary car.
I've never been in this sort of situation before so unfortuantely I can't offer any advice but perhaps you can give me some.
How did you get the other insurance company to back down and admit fault?
