Reclaiming bank charges after a successful claim

Options
Hi there

I made a few years back from HSBC for overdraft charges and they paid me back. This helped me pay off my overdraft with them however it didn't help with other debts I had and as a result I still went overdrawn every month. HSBC continued to charge me and this has built up a significant amount. I managed to move away from HSBC but wonder if it's worth trying to get these charges back from them? I do have debt but not to the point where I'm unable to meet the payments required.

Thanks

I doubt you can reclaim as the OFT lost the high court case against the banks overdraft fees. Unless your in real financial hardship you will be unlikely to get anywhere. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

DarkConvict, they lost the argument on a collective challenge against fees. The judgement does not preclude an individual from making a claim under UTCCR 1999. The OFT lost THEIR case. Have you not read Govan Law Centre case going to court in June 2010?

So does that mean I could submit a new claim at my own risk - it's possible HSBC would pay out again?

It means you have to read the guide to reclaiming that darkconvict has pointed you to and read it very carefully.
