Malia,Crete. Advice.

My friends have booked up to go away on the 15th August to Malia. They have flights and accomadation booked, at the time of the booking I could not afford it. The travel agent wants £500 for me to be added to their booking.

I have now found a flight for £166 return to Heraklion with Monarch.

The only problem is accomadation, now my question.

Has anyone had first hand experience of just turning up in a resort and finding accomadation, If i was to book through a travel agent, the cost for a single person booking goes through the roof.

Do you think I should just get out there and see what happens, or do you think it would be a bad idea to turn up without no means of a bed.

I would appriciate any advice.

i am not sure i i would take the chance, have you tried contacting the hotel yourself. this is usually cheaper than going through an operator.
