Hi,
I am after a bit of advice regarding PVRs. I purchased a Bush IDPVR801B from Asda a few weeks ago (bargain at £99 - or so I thought!). Love the technology, but it was about as reliable as a train timetable. Hard disk kept freezing, system kept rebooting etc etc etc. Took it back and exchanged it twice, but similar problems encountered with the replacements as well.
So my question is this: can anyone recommend a nice, cheap (sub £150) reliable PVR? Is it possible to get cheap AND reliable, or is it very much a case of you get what you pay for?
Thanks
Craig

It is
I've a 2nd hand Digifusion (with a 5amp PSU) all for less than £80
On this occasion I recommend DigitalSpy instead of avforums.0 -
Hi
I have the Toppy, twin tuner pvr and its excellent, no problems like you've encountered, it just works, but like you say they're not cheap, but perhaps you do get what you pay for, I don't know, I'm just very happy with mine and am amazed what you can do with the Toppy and how well it works.
Have you looked at the Humax, either single or twin tuner, they seem to get good reviews and they are cheaper than the Toppy.0 -

Thanks for all your advice folks.
Having read up on the internet a bit further, I am going for the Humax PVR-9200T (...and sod the £100 budget!)
Cheers

I've got the Humax 8000T and although i'd never heard of Humax before, it's a brilliant piece of kit. Dead easy to use.
Wish I'd got the twin tuner, so good choice by you
