question about completed payment on paypal

hi

I have just sold a mobile phone for 160 + p&p. the transaction shows as completed and I have withdrawn to transfer to my bank ac. What I want to know is the payment regarded as cleared funds or should I wait unitl the money is in my ac before posting phone? I dont want any problem with say if the card the buyer used was not theirs/unsuficent funds etc.

thanks

I assume we're talking about paypal?

Transferring the money to your bank account isn't really a safeguard. The IMPORTANT things you should be looking out for are whether there is a confirmed address on the paypal payment, and whether you are eligible for seller protection.

Click on the transaction after you've logged in to paypal to check.

Also: how long has the buyer been registered for? Do they have plenty of feedback?

Also please remember that if you delay shipping longer than day 7 days after auction ends you lose any seller protection you may otherwise have. Giving up your seller protection would be a bad idea just in case of problems.

Don't forget as well that the phone must go special delivery with sufficient insurance to enable you to reclaim from the Royal mail should it get lost en route.

buyer reg since 2003 and the address is confirmed. My item is not covered by the sellers protection though. I have asked the buyer to confirm their address by email as well and it matches what is confirmed by paypal. Well off to the post office in the morning with fingers crossed that special delivery will cover and problems should i need to claim
