  • Out of interest, why are some people using paypal?
Is it because they're hoping that the fact paypal takes the cash immediately will mean pixmania are more likely to honour the contract?

Seems abit silly to me; you don't get CC protection, and whether or not the money has left your account will make little difference to pixmania.
They'll either honour them all, honour the first few upto stock-limit, or honour none of them.
Using paypal just means that until you are refunded, the money is in ebay's grubby little hands instead of your own.

Pixmania are THE WORST company ive dealt with and if you paid via PP, you cant make a claim as the rules are different with this company.

I paid via paypal as it was quicker - i didnt need to input my card details and i already had £170 sitting in my paypal account that im saving, so if my order gets cancelled and it take 5-7 days to get a refund im not fussed as its not money i need for other stuff.

How are the rules different with this company - please explian further. Anything you pay for with paypal is covered under the 45 day dispute.

Can you beieve one person on HOT DEALS has called us MSE'rs SCUM.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!

  • Ordered a camera, they sent the wrong one, it took AGES for them to agree to a refund and when I tried to put in a claim with PP, it wouldnt work as they dont accept the type of claims you can make when you use Ebay.

I don't see why not... they're listed on the PayPal website, and you can open a dispute against any other merchant who accepts PayPal. PayPal only cover items that are not received, and don't guarantee full return of funds, but it certainly doesn't appear they will prevent you from raising a dispute. Tis in the Help Centre, but I canny post links.

Anyhoo... I paid by paypal because its easy. I can buy stuff at work even if I forget my wallet :D.

If by some miracle the TV arrives; yippee. If the order is cancelled, I'll get my money back eventually. I bought my current TV from PixMania and I haven't had a problem so we'll see.

Keeps telling me 'Unfortunately, your order could not be placed, you can restart the process by clicking here'
    Tried twice now.

This happened to me twice so I called my cc company and it was them that had blocked it because the company is in France, so it went to the fraud dept. They unblocked it and the order went through, lady said money came off and I got an e mail confirming my order.
    Here's hoping.
