Tenantdeposit.com

Evening all

SIL has just rang me to get some advice and I thought this was the best place to get it.

She, her DH and her two kids are living in a two bedroomed house that is not big enough for them and they don't seem to be getting anywhere with the local council to get a swap or anything.

She is now looking as privately renting and at the minute cannot afford the "bond" as the deposit.

She's asked me to look at the website https://www.tenantdeposit.com for her as this seems to be a site that pays the bond for you and you pay them back.

Is it legit? If it isn't can anyone suggest anything for her?

TIA:)

Its probably (almost certainly) legit but your sister will need to pass their referencing process. If she can not afford a normal deposit and is on benefits then she is high risk so there is, I suspect, no chance that she will score highly enough in the referencing process.

Such a company will cherry pick the low risk cases - people in work etc.

Best bet is for your sister to start saving up a deposit.

You will have to pay for any damage done to the property yourself and if this happens they will charge you an admin fee as well
