Holiday !!!!-Up!!

Hey Guys

Right....where to start. Me and 8 people are going to Malaga in July for 7 days. We booked our flights and hotel through an online company. We got the deal, booked it and paid for it all within 3 months. We didnt get the flight details until about 2 weeks ago. I checked the flights and to my horrow the flights said London Luton to Madrid....MADRID!! 433 miles away from Malaga!! Now the story is when we booked it we assumed all flights on the page were to Malaga, I mean why else would you have any other airports on the list when Torremelinos is near Malaga!! But re-tracing our steps it appears the flight destinations go like this -

Departure **:**pm Luton to Madrid (Choose)
Departure **:**pm Luton to Malaga (Choose)
Departure **:**pm Luton to Madrid (Choose)
Departure **:**pm Luton to Malaga (Choose)
Departure **:**pm Luton to Malaga (Choose)
Departure **:**pm Luton to Madrid (Choose)

We rang the company straight away and they said we cant do anything we want £983 to change the flights for you!! Apparently when we book it, they dont check any details. Just take the payment and thats it? I know we should of checked the flight details in more detail but is there anything we can do to at least get something done by the firm to help us instead of saying "well, u can drive or catch a coach...or pay £1000 to change it all" Easyjet wanted £400 admin costs and £583 to change the flights.

Any advice would be great :-D

Sorry, I think you'll have to pay for your mistake on this occasion!

Some people shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the internet ;)

I'm afraid you will have to stump up the money - you made the mistake, nobody else did.

Any chance you can cut your losses and book brand new flights to the correct destination? Ive no idea if you can get 6 returns for less than £1000???

There is a high speed train between Madrid and Malaga that takes less than 3 hours.

Cost for name changes would put paid to this, otherwise there would be a roaring trade in flight tickets on eBay.

You need to price up the options: train, minibus transfer, car hire or onward domestic flights. My guess is train would be the cheapest option, car hire maybe the most flexible (and you could use the car(s) while on your holiday too).

It's an unfortunate mistake, but it could have been much worse: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7883894.stm

I wouldn't give the airline any more money. I am sure you will be cheaper catching a coach or train in Madrid.

Agree with some others on here, get off the plane in Madrid, stumble to the train station and get hammered en route to Malaga.
