Online shopping refund

My brother recently bought three t-shirts online. Having received them he changed his mind and wanted to return them and get a refund. The company said he could have a refund and sent him a bag to send them back. However, after sending them back, the company then refused to give him a full refund claiming he had only sent one t-shirt back. They said they wanted proof that he had sent all three back but he doesn't have any. Does anyone know what he could do?

I would push it back onto them, they have to prove he didn't send 3 back. Do you have the postal receipt detailing the weight of the package? How did he pay for them?0

Thanks for your reply paulofessex. Yes he does have a receipt with the weight of the package. He paid for them by debit card.0

I asked my delivery driver about this senario as I'd read about it happening with a catalogue company I use. She told me it was down to the company to prove that they hadn't received all the items, so basically not a lot they can do, if you have a receipt that is.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

I think once you have posted it, it's no longer your responsibility (read the DSR guide for businesses).
Neither do you have to post it recorded (just proof of postage).0
