British gas wont send cheque for cockup!!!

Hi All,
Back in December last year my Mom and Dad bought a Gas fire from British Gas. Unfortunately what they delivered and installed was not what they had ordered but a completely different fire. British Gas was quick to apologise and offer compensation for their mistake. My Mom and Dad agreed and was told a cheque would be sent out for about £200.
As i said this was back in December and they still haven't sent it. My Mom now has 2 Managers and a Supervisor on the case in various departments and even their coming back saying they don't know what the problem is. The cheque is supposed to be sent from the Customer Services department.
I was just wondering if anyone could suggest anything i could do to get them to send the cheque ?? I can't believe even their managers aren't sure what to do next !
Any help would be great.

Remember that it'll be the Homecare/Home Services customer services team not the general billing/gas and electricity departments: I'd suggest writing in a letter of complaint to them identifying what the problem is, and how easily it can be resolved by them working out some way of sending the cheque.0
