E.ON: Online tariff switching unavailable to existing customers...still

Hi Minerva

Really sorry the Switch Now option is still unavailable on our website.

The planned maintenance I referred to in a previous post showed up a more deep seated problem with this particular function.

Our technicians are currently grappling with this fault but it is proving difficult to fix. I'm afraid I don't have a time frame for a resolution yet but I will post again as soon as I know something more concrete.

In the meantime, please feel free to use the email address in my Profile if you would like to switch tariffs. I will be happy to do this for you.

Presume the function worked prior to the 'planned maintenance' - why not roll back to the system state before maintenance and perhaps do more testing on the new version?

Looking forward to hearing from you when online switching is again available....not 21-Apr

    To be honest, I don't really understand the technical complexities behind our website.

    The way it was explained to me was, we took the website down for a pre-arranged period of maintenance and this highlighted a potential problem which may have become much worse if the planned outage had not gone ahead.

    The way I understood it was, the problem was already there and would have eventually come to light if we hadn't spotted it first.

    Sorry this is a bit vague to say the least. However, will let everyone know as soon as I have more info.

    I have been trying to change my tariff for the last fortnight and am fed up with receiving the same message "that the product switching service is unavailable".

    Surely it should be fixed by now?

    if its any consolation as an eon employee i am as sick of this as everyone else as it means more calls which we wouldn't normally have,and in my opinion doesn't make eon look good.

    there is still no word when this is completed,we were just told at least 2 weeks.

    i wouldn't mind so much but they introduce a new v8 of the fix online tariff during the same time.madness!!!!

    Good news guys.

    Our online tariff switching tool has now been fixed and is back on the website in the usual place.

    There may be the odd minor glitch until it is fully bedded in but these are being worked on.

    Sorry for the delay but hope you can now see the info you are interested in.
