I have just spoke to job centre plus and they say i am now on income based ESA, but i used to be on contributions based ESA, can anyone tell me the difference?
Income as follows:
ESA £105.05 per week (including disabled element, main phase)
DLA £90.35 per week
Partner has just been accepted for carers allowance at £53.90 but wont get it for a while as they need to speak to ESA about his backdate amount?
I was sent a change of circumstances form few weeks ago and filled it in and since then i seem to be on income based ESA.
Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks

This means that you have savings of less than £16,000 and, if you have a partner or civil partner, they work for less than 24 hours a week on average.:oAutism isn't the end of the world just a journey to another one:)

Income Related is means tested and can be paid to a couple - which appears like it is happening for you. It can be paid at a higher rate than ESA(C).0
