I’ve just done a lot of research on conveyancing charges. Both of those look a tad expensive, but maybe if they keep strictly to their quotes you’d be happy to go with them?

Do you know that either of them are good (say, recommended) or likely to add on charges later?

There’s padding in both of them, eg: the first has a leasehold charge, the second does not. The second is ludicrously high on the transfer of funds.

I reckon £500ish would be more like it.

    hth :)

We are currently looking for conveyancing a sale only (no purchase) for a house under offer at £599,950 in Surrey. The sale price does affect what you pay.

Local solicitors are quoting from £750 to £950 plus VAT.

On line quotes from conveyancing firms are very much lower, typically around £400 plus VAT with one as low as £200 plus VAT from Hanover Solicitors.

Google "Conveyancing" and get a few online quotes.

We have read and heard opinions about conveyancing firms ranging from “don’t touch with a bargepole” to the opposite.

Do some research and make your own mind up on this.

Yes, agree, you should research and ask friends etc.

Easier2move are coming in at just under £500 for me. They’ve been around a few years and don’t seem to have too many critics.
