Idiot USA buyer

Sorry but I'm having a moan at the moment! I had an item @ £2 BIN with BEST OFFER, USA buyer puts in an offer of £1.75 (Which I would have accepted but it came in at 5am this morning whilst I was still in bed!) then 5 minutes later they decide to buy the item @ £2.
Postage for UK was quoted @ £1.50, gets a paypal payment for £3.30, I though that doesn't add up when I check the buyer has altered the postage to just £1.30 - how on earth am I meant to send something cheaper to USA than I can in the UK?
Anycase, I've now refunded the whole payment & sent them a new invoice, £4 postage & will wait & see if they pay it!
Buyer only on 25 feedback but 100%.
2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please!

I'm surprised how often buyers try that one on, I wonder if they don't expect us to notice!

You've done the right thing by returning the payment and issuing a new invoice.

Change your preferences, so buyers aren't allowed to edit payment totals on an invoice.
  • I have done but because it's an overseas buyer they can put the postage in themselves.

Hi, on your "My eBay" page, on the left hand side it says "My Account" then go to "Preferences".

Should not make a difference. Out of the 4,000 + items i've sold (over the last 2 years), many to overseas buyers, not one has been allowed to change the invoice automatically generated by eBay. The only loony i've had in that time was someone who had a French address, then decided to stick "United Kingdom" on the end of it. He got charged UK postal rate by eBay, but i refused to send his goods until he payed the balance for the EU rate.
