Why is Paypal asking me to return a counterfeit item?

Why is Paypal asking me to return a counterfeit item? I bought another fake item :mad: I sent it to the company who sent me a letter confirming it's a fake but before I got the chance to show that to paypal they've said

What should I do? Did I file something wrong? I've never done this before, halp!

Did you open a claim for item not as described or fake? If you can prove in writing from the co on headed paper that an item's fake you are generally asked to destroy the item,ebay don't want the same fake item being resold. So check on your claim what you put.

I don't know whether you can now give further info as you should have told them it was fake, only ever do that after getting written confirmation though.

Get on the phone to paypal and remind them it's an offence to handle counterfeit goods, and they shoudl not be advising you to send them back.

Phone paypal they have probably got themselves mixed up and do as Fay said tell them its an offence to handle or post a fake item

It looks as though the OP opened a SNAD not a counterfeit dispute, going by the response from ebay or paypal.
If you do that can you change the dispute it & say that it's fake & give proof?

Thanks I didnt see that. Not sure if yiu can change the dispute. Id still phone paypal

I had to return a fake Nintendo DS back to China after opening a dispute. I got a full refund and I kept the 'free' R4 card with games on it aswell.
