whats the most scammed item on ebay?

am i right in thinking its the mobile phone that generates the most scammers?

why are the nigerian scammers so interested in knackered old mobile phones?

They don't care about the phone - they target people selling high value items, preferably on buy it now. Laptops tend to be targetted too.

The item doesn't matter as there will never be any actual money changing hands... unless they get lucky and get some innocent who falls for the routine... in which case it will be money changing hands in the WRONG direction.

The nigerians basically harvest e-mail addresses and clone credit cards, so any payment is fraudulent. And they have the items, which are worth more in nigeria than they are here (I don't know why).

I would say it's either mobiles, or xbox-360s!
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

The other classic 419 scam is to tell you they're going to over-pay you, and get you to send them real funds in return to make up the difference. Of course the overpayment either never arrives, or is paid via paypal and swiftly reversed.
