wedding insurance

We have it because the suit hire place charged per suit for insurance (in the absence of wedding insurance) and the premium for that added up to about the same for wedding insurance. It covers all outfits and other stuff, so I figured if I had to pay anyway, I may as well get the most cover for my money

Ooh, that's a good plan!0 -
Thank you for your replies,we will definitely be getting it:)will have a look around now for best deal.

GET IT!!!
We booked our venue in August and had to have insurance! thank god we did because in Feb they cancelled on us! We are still waiting to receive £1500 from the insurance company. Thank god we managed to find somewhere else near by for the same dates or we would have lost alot more!
You spend alot of money on your wedding and if something goes wrong could you afford to pay out again for something of the same standard!0 -
really need to get this sorted, although i had a friend who went with M&S for her wedding insurance and they were brilliant when their wedding list (what ever equinox wedding list used to be) went into administration and they didn't get any of their stuff delivered.
she highly recommended them... will have to get that sorted when we get paid this month as we're starting to book more things. in just over a weeks time it'll be a year to the wedding :eek:0 -
Hi chatnoir
Sorry to hear that you are still waiting on being paid
I've just set up a site about wedding insurance this week and would like to know that I'm promoting the right suppliers.
Please could you tell me which wedding insurance company you used and if you would recommend them?
Thanks0 -
I got mine here cos they were cheapest for what it offered that i wanted and I am pretty sure i got cash back from quidco too. Got it a while ago now although i think its difficult to say how 'good' someone is without having made a claim. Its all very well saying they cover you but the proof is in the pudding so to speak. I am hoping i don't need it but its nice to know that there is something there if anything goes wrong and even if it doesn't cover everything, seeing recent effects from the disruption after volcano, I think it mght be a good idea to look at contongeny of any sort.Proud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0

Out of interest, when should you get the insurance?
Before you've booked a place?
I'm only asking as I've seen the threads where people have lost their deposits - would insurance cover this?0 -
Hi
I think that if you are definitely going to get insurance, it is best to get it early on - that way you are covered. Obviously if you are half way through and then something happens - it's a bit too late to arrange cover.
A bit obivous but hope it helps0 -
