We have it because the suit hire place charged per suit for insurance (in the absence of wedding insurance) and the premium for that added up to about the same for wedding insurance. It covers all outfits and other stuff, so I figured if I had to pay anyway, I may as well get the most cover for my money :D

We got ours from E&L, they were the cheapest that provided the level of cover we wanted.

E&L (although there are bad reports), GreenBee, Debenhams - loads of places do wedding insurance.

Wedding insurance is a necessity really (you have insurance for you car don't you?) - you are covered if the photographer doesnt turn up, or if your dress gets damaged, also if there is a problem with your transport - there was a bride last year who was involved in an accident on her way to her wedding, the horse on the carriage she was in bolted and she was thrown out and broke her arm - thankfully she had wedding insurance. Some will also cover money and vouchers that you may receive as presents.

I won't work with any couples who don't have wedding insurance even though I have my own public liability & professional indemnity insurance...a lot of wedding planners won't.

Id say its definitely a necessity!!

It will cover you if you or your immediate family are ill and you need to cancel or postpone.
It will cover for any suppliers you use going bust after you have paid them your deposits etc.

    We got ours through ecclesiastical

It may seem silly but does any insurance cover for getting "cold feet " ie the bride or groom changing their mind ?

All our suppliers are ok-we either have the items and the venue is council owned. So would it be worth getting insurance ?

No they don't tend to cover cold-feet. It would be a bit silly if they did really!

We got ours from Confetti, they do three levels of cover and their basic policy was just right for us :)

I went with E&L too, just felt that it was safer to have it, than risk something going wrong!! It covers the main worries, dress getting damaged, venue going up in flames etc!!

I got my insurance with Debenhams and they provide good levels of insurance.
I really wopuld recommend it - no one likes to think of things going wrong with their wedding plans but at least if you take out insurance you would get financial assistance to try and put things right.
