DIY Home Move - Insurance

If you decide to hire a van and not get a company to move home what do people normally do about insurance for your stuff while in transit? Is it something that should be covered by your home insurance, obviously you need to check but is it usually covered? If not then where would you go to get insurance for everything while you were moving it?

I'm sure will have been asked before but I couldn't find anything, or maybe it hasn't and it is just a daft question!

They only tend to cover moves if it's carried out by a professional removal company and it's generally subject to a professional removal company doing the packing
