Some advice please on breaking car on ebay

Hi, we've had an old car on our driveway for a while now:( my OH had the intention of doing it up, but has finally realised he really doesn't have the time! The car has no mot/tax and really is only suitable for breaking. I have seen on ebay other vehicles listed as 'breaking for parts/spares' on a 99p auction style listing. Then in the description it reads to contact the seller for part info/price. With the statement 'if you bid you win a wheelnut'. Could someone please let me know whether this is allowed? If not what would be the best way to list this? Many thanks:)

Best off just putting it in the local paper as spares or repair.

depends what car but you would be surprised what scrappys will pay to collect your car
phone around and get quotes
more money breaking it but a lot more grief and work0 -
You have 3 choices really..
a) With scrap metal prices being fairly high at the moment, there will always be people happy to come out and buy your MOT failure off you. Last time I did this, I got 30quid cash in hand for an old MOT failure Fiesta, which if "weighed in" would have been worth about 80quid. But, it got it out of my drive quick.
b) Stick it straight on ebay as it is. Someone will always want to buy an old car, either to break themselves and sell the parts, do up, get an MOT and then sell it on, or just take down the scrap yard themselves. I sold a car last year on ebay as "spares only" and got £100 for it.
c) If you have the time, which from your post your saying your OH hasnt, you can scrap the car yourself and sell all the bits off. Ive done this in the past with a £30 car and ended up making about £500 out of it. But, it takes a lot of time / effort taking it all appart, cleaning the bits up, making sure they work properly, then listing on ebay or in local papers and selling them off. Some bits like engine, interior, wheels, gearbox etc.. and body panels tend to sell easy, but you end up with loads of bits noone wants, so then you have to take them to the scap yard and weigh them in.
As a final note, if the car is remotely collectable, like an old one, then you will be supprised what you can get for it.

Might be worth putting an ad on gumtree our car was collected in less than a hour of posting the ad had tonnes of calls too in just that short space of time. For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.0
