Extended Warranty?

I brought a Candy tumble dryer from Argos April last year.

The years guarantee ends on it next week.

In the last 4 weeks i have had the engineers out 4 times in as many weeks the last time being this morning. This is a recurring fault. No problems with it at all until 4 weeks ago.

As the engineer left he handed me their extended warranty booklet, telling me that I had best get it sent off now because it ends next week.

Now my question is because this is a recurring fault which they have failed to fix for it to work longer than a week on 3 occasions previously should this not be covered by them some how even if it is out of warranty period and would i hae any grounds under SOGA if he does go wrong again or am i right in thinking because the manufacturer has touched it in the past year then the retailer wouldnt be interested?

Do i have any legs to stand on if it goes wrong again and I havent paid them the £60 a year they want for the extended warranty?

TIA.

I'm not sure of the answer to your question, I can only say that when we had a problem with our laptop within warranty, the manufacturer sorted it and when the same problem happened again out of warranty they fixed it because it was a re-occurring fault that had been initially noticed within the warranty period.

Something else just in case - would you be able to purchase to extend the warranty for another year at all?
