Does anyone know if this brute is worth anything?

Hi,
Please excuse the mess reflected in the screen, it is all the stuff in our garage and I am in the middle of clearing it out.

This is a TV that used to be in a pub. It works, although the picture isnt that good anymore. I dont really want it taking up any more space as it is a humungous brute at 45" x 22" screen, 15" width and then the huge speaker at the bottom. But is it worth any money or is it only fit for the skip?

I can't imagine it is worth anything, but just recently I seem to be making all the wrong calls as to what sells and what doesn't.

Also your 'mess' looks like my house on a 'Good' day!

You could always just stick it on a 99p listing and see how it goes (bearing in mind the paypal issue with collection items) - if you're considering skipping it anyway you've nothing to lose! Or failing that, freecycle is your friend. Our spare room looked a bit like that a few months ago and freecycle has been a godsend!! There aren't many things that nobody wants for free - except my analogue bathroom scales apparently....

It looks like a back projection TV so the picture was probably never any good.

Consider yourself lucky if someone takes it off your hands for free and doesn't charge you.

  • Thanks all, I'm going to stick it on Gumtree, I hate looking at it. I just didn't want to chuck it, only to learn it was a fossil that was actually worth millions.

I have a broken tumble drier and an old fridge in there so maybe some Steptoe-type will come and take it all off me.

bear in mind that screen size is on the diagonal
    i make that a 50"? screen
  • Something like that!
It was some bit of stuff in it's day.

We bought it from a pub that was changing to flat screens, for our student house. It was tremendous for parties with the huge speaker.

If you put it on freecycle along with the broken drier & fridge it will probably go. Often quicker than gumtree as well.
