The Deep Hull or York Dungeons

Can anyone tell me if these are worth it? I've never heard of The Deep before and I've been to London Dungeons so I'm guessing York will be something similar.
It's for 2 adults. Our holiday has just been cancelled and I don't know much about days out in england other than Zoos
TIA

The York Dungeon is good but it's not as large as the London Dungeon and does not have any rides, some of the exhibits and stories are the same as those told in the London & Warwick Castle Dungeons. Depending on how busy the Dungeon is, the tour lasts between 40 minutes - 1 hour (on a busy day you could easily queue twice as long without priority entrance).

I haven’t been to the Deep for over a year but when I went I was not impressed. From what I can remember, The Deep was more like an interactive museum rather than an Aquarium. In my opinion, even the Sea life at Alton Towers would be more of a preferable aquarium to visit compared to the Deep.

If you are staying at York, Scarborough could provide a 'nicer' day out than Hull. There isn't one big attraction at Scarborough but there is the Sealife Centre (which personaly I'd recomend over the Deep), town centre shopping & Restaurants etc, a really nice park and of cause the Beaches.

Scarborough SeaLife Centre over The Deep every time - much wider range of "exhibits" including seals & penguins. Scarborough much nicer place then Hull ( I spend a lot of time in both) - Most things in Hull Close at 5.30.

Then its only another 17-ish miles up the coast to Whitby, well worth a visit.

One piece of advice - Tourist Information Centres generally sell SeaLife Centre tickets for a lot less then the door fee - in Blackpool you can get tickets from TI for £ 5.00 but it is about £ 13.00 on the door. Would be worth trying Scarb TIC 1st.

    Hi,

Visited The Deep at Easter for the first time, wouldn't go back EVER again or recommend to anyone.Big queue to get in, £30 for a family of four,a lot of the touch screen interactive exhibits not working, too noisy to hear the 3D turtle movie and not enough seats to sit down to watch it,lots of unruly small children running round and no more fish that the usual sealife centre.Only spent 1 1/2 hours there.
If you want fish the National Sealife Centre in Birmingham is better.
Lots of other museums in York The Castle museum,Railway museum(free entry) and Jorvik, or if its a nice day how about a trip on the river and a walk round the walls.Have a good time.
