Depending on what u r looking for id go with That Swing Sensation... they are a 16 peice swing band and are excellent. they can also do smaller configerations of thier band which is cheaper. google them. To hear them you could hear them at Highlight (used to be jonglers) on last sun night of month.
I hired them for a work event and they couldnt be more helpful in all stages of planning, deleivery and evaluation0 -
there is a great band in Perthshire called the Benachally Ceilidh Band, they call out the dances and keep everything going. If you google them you will see, and you would gave a truly scottish wedding!Every days a School day!0

Eat the Peach played at our son's wedding in Pitlochry on 24th September and everyone thought the music very good. Played a mix of different kinds of music and traditional scottish too. Just ask for what you want them to play.0

Hi,
Just got married last month, used an excellent function band called Soul Struck! They did a set of jazzy background music while we had the meal and then 3 hours of soul, pop, rock and god knows what else for us to dance to in the evening, absolutely made the day! They were really helpful and quite cheap (around £800) definitely worth an enquiry! Here's the email address: soulstruck@hotmail.co.uk0 -
If you go to the music for scotland website there are several wedding bands along with samples of their music. Most of them will do a section of the evening with Celidh music played through the PA system and the lead singer usually calls the dances.0

I was at a wedding on saturday at the Norton House and would highly recommend the band that played. They were called cut the cake. The did a great mixture of celidh music and then also more upbeat music. Some modern stuff and some older.
This is their website

We hired Munch through agents Alive Networks. They were expensive but you can view their playlist online and listen to some of their songs. They also offer a free DJ service in between sets. Music is very important to us and we wanted very specific songs to be played, and in a particular order. So on the understanding they would play songs we wanted, we booked. How VERY DISAPPOINTING then when on the day Munch arrogantly decided they knew best and played what they wanted. One particular song we requested to follow the first dance was finally played in the second set after my husband repeatedly asked them to. We've since tried to express our disappointment to Alive Networks but they simply backed the band, who have said the songs they played kept the floor busy. Unbelievable. There has been no recognition that it was our day, or empathy with us, the customer, who spent more than £1,000. My husband Will spoke with the frontman of this band Matt for almost an hour about our playlist for the DJ set and he assured us he would get our songs from iTunes. Will, who had been finalising this list for the last 12 months, offered to pay for any downloads, or to put the list together himself on his iPod but Matt insisted all would be as we wanted. Well it was NOT. If like us you are keen to invest time and love in your wedding music DO NOT book MUNCH or use ALIVE NETWORKS.0
