Really worried about summer!!!

I am a 18 year old student and i have been trying to find a job since october and I have had no luck. I do not spend much money on socialising since I do not drink a lot or go out a lot. It is coming up to summer when my bursary and loan will stop being paid and I am really worried that I will have no income if i cant get a job with the next month! What should I do?? I am still trying to find a job so any other ideas would be warmly welcomed. Thanks =)

Have a look at your local council website for Summer Playscheme staff. They normally recruit around now. Most councils provide a weeks paid training and then 4 weeks paid work helping to occupy the minds of local youngsters during the school Summer holidays.

If you're good with organising games/activities, have a knowledge of first aid and can communicate with youngsters then you'll enjoy it as much as the children. You don't always need your own transport as most play centres tend to be accessed by public transport.

where do you live? The census 2011 are still recruiting for the summer in some areas.

Also, depending on where you live you can do it with public transport. Work does start in May time right through to August but you can do evenings and saturdays if it doesnt impact your studies too much. There is also the opportunuity to assist next summer as well, so in effect you could get work for 2 summers running with this.

if you could get a student thats doing a masters or pgce or similar that just needs the room for the summer you could save yourself the rent over summer which could save you a fair bit - i've done this the past 2 and before that had usually one month free summer rent so it is possible with some landlords.

Also try temping agencies in the local area your in- the work isn't always constant but it helps with money, builds your cv up and can give you other opportunities for the future
