I'm moving, should I cancel Sky?

We're moving next Friday. What should I do with our Sky subscription? Is it cheaper/better to tell them we're moving and arrange re-connection or should I cancel and start again after we've moved? Many thanks

if you cancel now you havnt given them enough notice so the chances are you will be charged another month.. if you want to keep them you will have to arrange for them to set it up at your new place and therefore ring them and make an appointment.. mabey take the opportunity to talk to them abt what they can offer you to stay with them normally works with the cable companysJennyW wrote:We're moving next Friday. I have heard that if you inform them you are moving they will re-connect you for free at your new place.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

they could also give you 3 months half price if you say you want to cancel. Gave 30 days notice on ours due to move and they offered the re-installation free along with 3 months half price, just take our existing box with us. As it stands we said no, may aswell get a new contract with new box and warranty or Sky+ in the new place, either way we would still get free installl and 3 months free.0

Just moved and sky said to see if there is a dish in the new place. If there is you can plug your box in and not need to call them out. They said they charge £40 for a moving service if you need a call out.
The other way is to cancel sky at your old place and for your partner to take out a new contract in the new place. Then you'll get the new offers and a new dish; could even multi room with the old dish.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I called sky last night and yes, they want £40 to move me which I was a bit disappointed about. shall I threaten to leave and see if they'll let me off the moving fee?0 -

Yes, I'd say to them "I can't afford that much what with just moving so I'll cancel" Then once you have moved get hubby to join up.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Yes, they waived it for me when I said I was going to cancel.
They also gave me an upgrade to Sky+ with no extra monthly rental..
Worth an ask!0
