I put out a charity bag for BHF for tomorrow morning and

5mins ago a white van pulled up and took it!!

I'm so annoyed as normally I put it out much later and I had some really good quality stuff in it.

I'm sooo angry that I'm planning on putting out a bag of rubbish next time just for them.

rant over...

This is why I'll never leave bags out on the roadside and I'll always drop them off to the charity directly. Next time you know there's going to be a collection in your street, put out a bag and try to sneakily take a photo of the van or write down the license plate number and report them to the police. I honestly don't know how some people can live with themselves

All charity bags are collected by white vans around here. I thought it was the norm everywhere. :) How were you expecting the bag to be collected?

The collection was for tomorrow morning, and the vans came round at night and stole the bags before the charity people had a chance to come and get them :P Usually when you get the charity collection bags there is a specific timeslot on it for your street, and they're usually at about 8am. White vans coming and stealing the bags is quite a common occurence

Better to drop them off at a shop for your chosen charity.

We get so many of these charity bags through our door every week and I have heard/seen vans coming round to collect. Some vans have the charity logo on them others don't so you have no idea who is actually collecting. I never put stuff outside my door for them and always take them to the charity shop. I appreciate its not always easy to have the time to take stuff directly to them but maybe if your friends or neighbours leave stuff out as well you could decide between you who is going to take the donations to the charity shop?

Round where I stay I've even heard of stuff getting nicked that is for special uplift by the council. Usually not worth nicking IMHO and falling to bits.
