Bank account - poor credit history

Hello all. Can anyone tell me if there are any bank accounts available that may be suited to people with poor credit history?

Thanks.

    Depending on how poor your credit rating is, a basic bank account might be the best option for you - they usually come with just a cash card and either no overdraft or just a 10 pound buffer zone. You may need more facilities than that, I don't know your situation.

    Check out this site:

    It lets you compare accounts / see what facilities are on offer.

    It is just a basic account i am looking for that allows wages to be paid into it. I applied to First Direct and was turned down. Any other suggestions people?

    Best two are;

    Natwest Step Account - No overdraft of cheque facility, but you do get a solo card and good internet banking with immediate updates

    Co-Op "cash minder" again no overdraft or cheque book but you do get an Electron card
    :rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:
