I am the same- I didnt want a strapless dress and thought I would have a problem. However I found several shops with straps of some sort.

Angela Lamont had a few -and I got mine from Signature Brides . I also heard Sarah loiuse on buchanan street have a good selection- but I never got that far.

My dress is a ronald joyce with a rose single strap and Im now wearing a church length veil which will help cover my shoulders and top half.
  • Try looking for Alfred Angelo 1148, I love it but can't justify spending that much on a dress (hopefully will pick one up of ebay!). I was watching reruns of Friends last night, Monica and Chandler's wedding, and so want Monica's dress!

I tried that one on, and it's really flattering for a slim figure with an ample boosom ;)
But the price seemed a bit high considering there's little extra detail on it, so I might be getting a friend to make a dress in that shape, but with extra sparkle / lace :)

My best friend had this for her wedding last September - she looked fab in it, it's really nice.

Alfred Angelo have a few strapped dresses, and they aren't too expensive if you shop around.

There are a few on Preloved at the minute, and 3 on Ebay.

Wow it is so good to hear that other ladies are going for straps too! It seems like 95% of the bridal dresses out there are strapless and I knew that I would get one with straps as that is what suits my shape best.

I have got a Mon Cheri dress 19221 (Patti) it is not even remotely MSE but I fell in love with it!

I am nowhere near you so not able to help with your search but there are dresses out there you just have to hunt for them, I believe the ella range have quite a few this season.

    Good Luck

DD has chosen Trudy Lee 58181 as it has the beautiful bolero so she doesn't have to walk down the aisle half dressed & freezing cold (:o oops, old fogey alert!)

In one shop they told her that if she chose that style she couldn't have a veil as she would look unbalanced ..... well, there were millions of unbalanced brides in my day!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

lol where do these people get their ideas from? why would you be telling anyone what they could or could not wear on their wedding day. This makes me angry:mad:
