  • Jettisoned Monday flying and took DD2 to London Zoo instead. Got to tell about my Granddad working in the Camden Stables when they had ponies down there for the barges, all kept in the dark with just the light from the grilles AND go on to explain about leggers and the like to her - all WITHOUT tuts, sighs and 'Enough education ALREADY' from her!

Then went to the zoo. Was going to surprise her with a boat trip to it but missed it by just moments, so let it go without comment, rather than disappoint her, (especially as we missed it because she was scarfing down a pizza slice from the market stalls).

Got lucky with zoo admission, as the girl at the till said she would put DD down as a carer for free admission when I presented the disabled Freedom pass for a couple of pound off my entry. Promptly spent that and probably twice as much again in there, so they didn't really lose out in the end.

OMG. We must have covered MILES. We saw almost everything and got some cracking photos, including a Tiger snoring in the sunshine on top of her shed thingy (I am so glad I accidentally packed two cameras plus my mobile, as the battery ran out on the main camera after three hours).

The best bit though, was at the end of the day. Most of the whining, screaming, yelling, moaning, stomping kids had been taken home and we could stand/walk in silence waiting to see the shyer creatures. Cue the okapi, giraffes, etc, all coming out and playing as though nobody was there.

After getting back via tube, train and two buses, I have sat down

    Decluttered 1 cuppa
    Watched DD2 feed cats
Decluttered 2 cameras worth of pictures onto laptop
Booked first driving lesson for about 7 years for next Tuesday  Clear the roads! Save Yourselves!!!!!
Decluttered half a bag of Werther's choccies (won't bother again - not up to much)

And not moved off sofa for 3 hours.

In fact, everything hurts so much, I'm not convinced whether I could move off sofa now.

Not bad for the last day of the Easter Holidays though.

Stuff flying tomorrow, I'm not going to be able to do much for a couple of days now except drink tea and eat junk food.

It was a very good day today. :D

    Evening all

As expected, I paid for my lack of work yesterday and was sooo tired when I got back in from work. I had the best of intentions to fly lots, but instead spent the best part of the evening following an auction on e-bay. It was worth it, though - DS2 will have a 2-storey playhouse :j:j (haven't told DH yet ). We are to have a look at it on Wednesday before the seller dismantles it, so it gives me a little while to sort out transport to get it back here. Now I just need to get a new, bigger shed so I can get rid of the old one to make space for the playhouse... I must be mad!

Sexy and jenny - congratulations! :T
L-L - I'm so sorry to hear your sad news.

Off to tidy the kitchen, sort stuff for tomorrow and try to settle down to some work. I'm too excited, though.
