Removals / Man with a Van?

Hi there folks,

I've only got a little while left at uni (in Bangor), and my student housing contract ends on the 1st of June. I need to transport my possessions 25 miles away (to Holyhead) before the contract runs out, but unfortunately don't have any uni friends who drive cars and could help me.

Was just wondering if anyone knows a 'man with a van', or could recommend any cheap removals companies? If so, how much do you reckon it'd cost for this short trip?

TIA

There's usually a couple of 'Man with Van' ads in the local free papers (well there is in ours anyway). Or you could try advertising for a van share with other Uni people - are there any communal noticeboards? Or the other option is an airport taxi - most of them are people carriers and some have a trailer for extra luggage as well. We hired one to take my son and all his gear up to Uni in London and it cost us £200 from Somerset to East London, so 25 miles might not be too bad cost wise.

  • Thanks so much for your reply! I can't drive, otherwise the van share would be a great idea, but i'll get a couple of local papers next week and see if there is a van man operating in the area. If not, i'll go with the taxi idea.

Thanks again, have a great eve :-)
