Where to find old tyres

Evening all,

I just wandered if anyone knew where i could get my hands on some old tyres?

I'd like to use them in my home gym (apparently there's lots you can do with them!) and as i'm only going to be hitting them with a sledge hammer or tossing them around the garden i wanted something that was ready to be thrown out.

Any ideas? Something a bit bigger than a car trye (perhaps a lorry tyre) would be ideal.

Any tyre supplier will be able to help, they have to pay to have them disposed (well the customer pays x amount). I got 10 from local company for use in garden

Try a local scrappie too, as they will have all different sizes - a local tyre fitter is not likely to have big tyres.

Because they have to ensure they are properly disposed of, you may find a bit of resistance to giving them away - you may need to sign a bit of paper saying you will ensure they are disposed of properly once you are done using them...

Try a local independant tyre fitter, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to offload scrap tyres.
