Could have told you aaaaages ago that Lloyds are thieving so and so's... Actually for recovery cover call your insurance company :) lots of them will do a cheaper deal than going direct :) Mine does heehee

Tomorrow if my voice has returned I will be calling them myself to cancel my current account... oh the fun I will have!!! A&L account has run for about 4 months with no major issues so feel confident to wave goodbye to my £2500 overdraft facility and rely solely on my £900 one with A&L and my £3500 one on the egg card (don't owe a penny on either I am proud to say!)

Indeed...why are they charging you £4.40 pmth for an ISA? Surely that negates any benefits you would normally get from an ISA?
  • The £4.40 pm they say is for admin costs and will be more than returned on maturity. the travel insurance is cheaper elsewhere they do however do a good mobile phone insurance that I have had to use, but how often do you loose your phone ?

Yes, you do get annual travel insurance with a LLoyds TSB platinum account, as well as card protection & mobile phone insurance.
I was paying about £7 per month for breakdown cover & £10 per month for annual travel insurance, so the Lloyds account works for me.

I had one of those come in and have a chat with us about your account meetings the other day. Loyds TSB.

She tried to do the "you really want to pay for your account" chat with me but I kept bouncing it all back, "No we don't travel abroad, no I only have a £35 PAYG phone and no phone insurance, the aa only costs me 60 odd, so why would free travel insurance/phone insurance/ aa cover help if I have to pay £120 for the priviledge?"

In the end I was advising her about how much she paid on her phone! She said the account was good for her as she had a contract phone for £45 a month" I was like "good grief do you realise you are paying £540 on phone, what a waste of money"

She couldn't wait to get rid of me!
  • I went to the local indian take away last night, 3 meals and some extras £41.00 !!!!!!!!! Thought it was a bit steep but I was hungry, got home and she says HOW MUCH!!!!!!! Get back there and sort it !Drove all the way back and shoved the recipt under his nose, "oh my" says he, after a quick recount I came out £10.06 better off, strange isn't it for £4.00 I wouln't of bothered driving back but when it's a tenner...........:j

    This can't be the norm, surely? I'm assuming it's a Mini-cash ISA?
