Nissan Figaro - experiences?

Hi all,

Do any of you own or have owned a Nissan Figaro? I'm thinking of getting one and trying to do as much research as possible.

Obviously I've checked out sites like Honest Johns but thought I'd ask on here as well.

I've read conflicting information regarding spare parts - some sites say that as it's basically a Micra parts are easy to get but other sites say differently.

Thaknks in advance,

S.

Try http://www.figaroownersclub.co.uk/ for more information, Owners clubs are great for out of the ordinary cars such as this. Parts wise the bits it shares with a micra will be cheep but try sourcing a light cluster you may get stung!

basically yes it is based on a micra so mechanical parts should be straight forward but the bodywork is obviously unique so will be expensive if you need any bodywork.

    Thanks both for your input.

Aside from it's cute looks I'm hoping that the Figaro will retain a lot of value if I decide to resell.

You know they're all automatics, right?

I was after one for a while, when I lived in London there was a dealer specialising in Figaros down the road and I used to covet them, but when I found out they didn't make them wiht manual gearboxes it put me off.

Angel - it wouldn't have been Wimbledon by any chance would it? I've found a dealer online who's based there.

JayDee - unfortunately they do tend to suffer from bad rust as all of the ones seen here in the UK are Japanese imports and materials used in them are not intended for our glorious British wet climate.

I am fully aware that many people would find paying £4-5k for a 20 year old Micra a bit potty...but they are so damned cute!

Possibly the same people who would see nothing wrong in paying the same for a 30 year old MGB:D.

Nope, it was on the Cambridge Heath Road in Bethnal Green. This lot.
  • Hi there
Just to say up until last week I owned a luuuuurvely little Fig called Farrah :)
Loved her to bits, unfortunatly personal circumstances meant I had to rehome her :(
My sister also has one! So this will be a slightly biased view lol

I would def reccommend anyone to get one, they may only be a 1ltr but they are turbo charged and rather feisty when they want to be!

I would def say to go to a reputable dealer, dont just buy one off ebay as there really is alot of dodgy ones out there. Like you say the rust can be bad on them and their roofs go.

There is a brlliant website if you check out auto supply forum....

    Speak to Baz at http://www.figaro-car-imports.co.uk/
I bought mine from him and he was invaluble to me throughout my owning Farrah. Infact he actually bought her back off me when she needed a new home. If you would be willing to travel to Manchester then he would be the person to get one from, he knows his stuff and doesnt get anything in that isnt bob on. He doesnt sell cheap crap that will fall apart he only does good ones but obviously this does add to the price. He can also help with advice and parts etc. I would pay as much as you can afford to get one as you want a solid car.

Anyway I hope that helps and enjoy your Figgy owning, I did! People will talk to you wherever you go!
Im still in mourning over losing Farrah :( lol

    Good Luck!!! Go for It!!!!

Thanks again all and especially thanks to TrollyDolly - very sorry to hear that you've had to have your little baby re-homed - the story nearly brought a tear to my eye! :'(

I'm not too far at all from Manchester (about 45 mins away) so that advice is extremely good to know.

I really do fancy getting one but it's a toss up between getting a fig or a new kitchen...decisions decisons!

    Cheers again,

    S.
