afaik the nigeria friend line is a common scam, so dont send anything
as for cancelling, i wouldnt know :-/

file a non performing buyer report? but then they could pay using a fake paypal account, i wouldnt know

either way DONT send them anything
  • have a read of the ebay reviews & guides mentioning nigerian scams http://search.reviews.ebay.co.uk/ws/UCSearch?satitle=nigeria&ucc=g&usop=1001&fts=2&ugat=2&ufm=1

you do not have to complete the transaction if you don't feel comfortable - the worst that can happen is you get a neg feedback (unlikely) & lose a couple of quid in fees. if you stated that you will only post to uk then you can file a non-paying bidder thingy & get your fees back as the buyer doesn't fall in line with your conditions.

i wouldn't post it. if they do paypal a payment, just refund it.
    :naughty:
  • I would report the to ebay as a scammer and get them booted off. Ebay dont look lightly on these folk and their mobilephones being sent to Nigeria. Out of interest how many feedback does he have? None? One? Won't be much more than that I wouldn't think. If ebay removed them as a buyer I would offer to the next highest bidder as a 2nd chance offer and let them know what happened. Good luck

This is just the most common scam around at the moment and isn't confined to ebay.

If it was a straight auction then just offer it to the second highest bidder and report the original winner to ebay.

    Soo
