Help - wasps just starting to build a nest in the shed

At the moment there is only the queen in there are there is only about an inch of nest.

I know if it was a full nest we would get the council around to deal with it but as it is only the very beginnings of one OH wants to just kill the queen. We have plenty of strong insecticides to do this but I am a little worried about having angry wasps around. But I thought if the queen dies they go elsewhere.

Anybody had to deal with this before?

We had a wasps nest in a tree at the bottom of the garden a few years ago. OH got a special spray that shoots from a massive distance away so you can spray the nest and run.
But there is always a risk of being stung, make sure children and pets are indoors and to be fair pre warn neighbours as well.
As far as I am aware you OH is right once the queen is dead, and after an initial angry buzz the other should disperse.
If you can I would get it before it gets buildt completely andthe populations go up.

Thanks. We have killed the queen and will destroy the bit of nest.

I have had wasps in the air bricks of another house and killed them off fine but I was a bit panicked by the thought of them building an external nest. I was worried the swarm build the nest and we would have lots of irate wasps around but I think just the queen builds the nest.
