what happens if your pc dies?

touch wood this wont happen but ive got a few items ending in the next couple of days and this pc is getting on my thrupenies as it keeps crashing (see a thread in techies that i joined in).

obviously having baby dont mean i can just nip down the library like i used to.

i state in auctions i take up to 5 days to post. but what, god forbid, i cant get there. would it sound a lame excuse if the chopchop was ill?

i know im over-reacting but id rather do that than let buyers down. and if my pc crashes and cannot be revived like it has been rcenelty then i could be stuffed.

do i remove all auctions?

Can you not borrow a friends/relatives PC/Laptop? When my monitor died I was lucky enough to be able to borrow my brother's laptop, I really don't know what I would have done if I couldn't have accessed eBay and emails.

When this happened to me (PC died & I couldn't get a replacement for two weeks) I nipped into an internet cafe for half an hour. I cancelled the auctions with no bids. I had no open auctions with bids, but did have some closed auctions where people hadn't yet paid. I just sent emails to everyone explaining what happened. Everyone was okay, but I think that was because I told them straight away. If you leave it until they are wondering what has happened to their stuff people are going to think that you are just making excuses. If you really think your PC is about to go to the big PC World in the sky I would start to make preparations for everything going pear-shaped!

am i wrong in thinking that u cant access ebay through wap on your mobile - is this just me or am i imaging it!!!

You can access ebay on your phone, but it's a very limited Ebay. You can't access your messages (and therefore answer questions), and I don't know whether you could see buyers' addresses and whether they've paid.
