Hi all have been reading some of the threads re: barclaycard and have noticed they are dealing with people in different ways??
Some of you sending off SAR requests are recieving questionaires from them to fill in and others like myself are not?
is there any reason why some people are recieving questionaires and others are not, its been a month since i sent off my £10 and SAR request?
Was just wondering??

Hi there
You do not have to request for a SAR, these are only required if there is no paperwork at all to support the case.
So this is a choice, not essential.
Sometimes within a SAR if a sale of the PPI have been made by phone, then written transcripts of the calls are supplied or even disc recordings.
In regards of the questionnaires, this can vary, these are normally sent from the bank if they require more information, mostly as one of their procedures, many call them a stalling tactic, because they have the information of the complaint on the letter sent and they will or should hold the details of the sale on their computer systems, however, this will depend on how long ago this taken place.
If you do request a SAR, then they have 40 calendar days to comply.
And with reclaiming, they have 8 full weeks to respond with a final decision.
Hope this helps.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi
I got a questionnaire - although I am completely speculating, part of me thinks they don't have the info on file, hence the questionnaire. Another part of me thinks the ae trying to get you nto a trap. hmmmm. Probably yes a stalling tactic when their queue is so big!!!0 -
The FOS have new questionnaires now as well, where you can print off and send to the bank alongside with a letter, this saves time with the FOS as well in case the complaint goes as far as them.

This is though only recently this have come about with the FOS.
However, I do also feel before the banks used to send them out as a stalling tactic.
Not sure if the FOS Questionnaires are the same as the banks questionnaires though, there is also more info at the bottom of the FOS how to complain page here:
