If you are eligible, I would strongly advise you to register, as not being on the electoral roll has other consequences, aside from obtaining credit cards.
If you key the name of your borough plus 'electoral roll' into google, it'll take you to the relevant page on your council website. Most local authority websites are set up so you can apply online or download a form.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
I agree. Not only does not being on the electoral roll mean that obtaining credit is more difficult, it also means you don't get a vote. Whatever you may think of politics, a vote is something worth having (ask anyone in countries where they riot to get it).
Just my little soap box!
Oh and do be careful about a credit card "just in case". Just in case is an excellent attitude, but if I were you I'd keep it in a safe place at home, not in your wallet - otherwise "just in case" may turn into "just in case I fancy buying this thing I know I can't really afford"!
HFMEverything turns out all right in the end. If it's not all right, it's not the end.

It's pretty simple to be added to the register, we just filled out a PDF form and emailed to our local office, was added pretty quickly, this was about 3 years ago. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
