    hi all

iany one been to Presthaven sands recently?

any more opinions on the site and places to go and eat locally?

Is there an adventure playground on site?

I am looking for cheap daytime adtivities for kids age 6 and 7 so obviously it the weather is good the beach will suffice and the pool if it rains - but just looking for other ideas in case it rains all the time (going first weekend in sept)

    thanks

Geronimos in Rhyl is reasonably priced and a decent enough place for kids to run off a bit of steam if it rains - http://www.palacefuncentre.co.uk/text/geronimos.htm.

Other than that there's the Nova Centre in Prestatyn and the Sun Centre in Rhyl, which aren't particularly cheap but if you visit the Tourist Information Centre or browse the local press you might find a discount voucher. Likewise the Seaquarium in Rhyl is worth a visit but only if you can find a BOGOF voucher somewhere.

If you're in Rhyl I can very much recommend a visit to Les & Rita's Fish Bar on Wellington Road for the fish & chip special. Top quality fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter and pot of tea for £4.75 and also decent value kids meals.

Further afield you look try a visit to Tir Prince Raceway in Towyn where you can watch harness racing each Wednesday from the end of July or visit their funfair - http://www.tirprince.co.uk/home.html

Llandudno and Conwy are also not too far away. Conwy has a great castle and Llandudno pier is worth a visit (admission is free).
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Well give us your suggestions for further around the coast too Arti. Dyserth Falls & the new inn are favorityes of ours . Is there a STAR pub around Dyserth too that serves brill food . (could be called new star) Im getting old . Wales is my second home and i am lucky enough to be there most weekends and you know when you drive past a pub in the middle of nowhere and the carpark is full there is a good reason. I visited http://www.queensheadglanwydden.co.uk/menu.html between Llandudno & Colwyn Bay along the back track . This has to be my new best friend and not money saving as it will cost me lots in petrol. Great food and beer served not cheap but very very worth it. fatandy will know this beaut

edit its the same New Inn as mentioned before i am getting old

  • I went here in October last year so not very recently. Don't want to put you off but tbh it was one of the worst have been to. Site wise it was ok, but the caravan was the dirtiest and basically most battered have ever seen. I ordered linen and it wasn't there when I arrived so phoned reception who said would be straight there with it. Waited an hour and called them back (poor kids were starving as had just arrived) was again told someone would be straight there and to go out if wanted. Arrived back at midnight, guess what, no linen!!!! So had an awful night sleeping on their minging beds with scratchy duvets. Went reception first thing in the morning and complained, and was given a "refund". She never asked for my card to refund it back onto, saying they kept all the card details on the system!!!!! Was a bit worried about this, but left it as I would have my refund in 3 days (which surprise surprise would be when had gone home) 1 week later and still no refund! Called customer services and was told they NEVER keep card details and so refund hadn't been done!!! Overall, a dirty site and rude, lying staff!!! I love Haven and it was a Sun £9.50 deal, so don't like being negative, just be aware lol
