Can anyone advise me on building work? As soon as I open my door I am looking at a building site. I have written to the housing office and they have passed it on to the RSM, for him to look over.
Does anyone have a booklet of my rights as I have asked for one and never got one yet.
Can anyone help??????

Us singleys get a reduce rate in rent because of the building work thats going on in our camp.....
what are they building, I take it it's new quarters? or is it new single accom (if you live on camp)If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
You can ask for a temporary downgrading of the property if you experience significant loss of amenities. Not sure looking at a building site will count though.0

I've known an entire street be temporarily downgraded while some major building work was going on, and I've also seen requests for Z type single accommodation to be temporarily downgraded while further building work happens be refused.
Maybe the RSM's report is needed before a decision can be made. From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -

Oh private houses....nothing you can do as you should have brought up your dislike when they published the planning papers (which would have been done weeks before any building started).
though I believe you can complain if they start/finish at unsociable hours. If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

Hi,
About 3 years ago I lived in a quarter on camp and they were building a superdiner right next to my back garden, the dust was soo bad my 18m old couldn't go in the garden. After an 8m fight I eventually got the whole street downgraded for the duration of the build. I pestered DE to the point of distraction I think!
I also know that when they were building the Tesco's in Tidworth the houses that backed onto the site were downgraded due to the noise, dust and floodlights.
I would your local DE office and put in lot's of complaints and get your welfare office involved too as they were invaluable to me.
Hope that helps.0 -
You haveo "rights" per se'. You are a licencee not a tenant. The conditions you sign on taking over your SFA state that DHE will "try to", they then dictate "you will".... A complete con!0
