Will my compensation be classed as income & effect my benefits?

Hi everyone, I haven't posted on here for sometime but it is looking like I might actually win my Medical Negligence case against my local hospital for Surgery that I had in 2006 which has left me disfigured.

My 1st query is, if I do win some compensation from the hospital will I be able to use the money to fund further private surgery to fix what the hospital messed up or will this be classed as deprevation of capital?

2nd query, will I be expected to live off any money I receive & will my benefits cease?

Hi

Personel injury trusts are a good idea to look into.

If you put your compensation into one, its not taken into account for means tested benefits and your money is safe from the dss (or what ever its called this week).
