Argh cats shredding trampoline - how to stop?

Options
Had a problem for ages with cats pooping in the garden, which is a source of complete annoyance. However we woke up the other day to completely shredded trampoline poles - they have a foam cover on them, and holes in the netting.

We were disposing of the trampoline anyway as it's a tiny one, with plans to replace it with a bigger one - but all the affordable ones seem to have foam poles. Is there any way to stop the cats invading our garden???

I had the same problem last year, sprinkle citronella oil onto the foam and it will stop them. Thankfully it was only one pole that got damaged, the oil saved the rest. If the oil is sprinkled on tea bags and then scattered about the garden this also stops the cats doing their business there.
