Few tips if you are selliing a mobile on ebay:
    1. UK only - not to nigeria!
    2. People with feedback of over 10 or something similar - ie not someone with a bad feedback score or low one
    3. Paypal only with only confirmed addresses

I would get the auction so it finished on a Sunday tea time but everyone is different!

  • I'm not exactly a power seller but recently over the last few weeks i've sold alot of mobile phones and from my experience its a total waste of time listing them for anything other than 24hr. There's that many mobile phones on ebay, when i was listing them for 7,10 days or longer they didn't get any bids or watchers until couple of days but usually the last day before auction end. Everyone seems to leave it until the last minute to bid. After the 1st half a dozen I started listing them all for only 24hrs and they went for just as much. If you're not in a rush I suppose you've nothing to loose listing it for along time but from my experience it won't help you get more for it.

ive been selling mobile phones for the last four years on ebay

as for the 24 hour rule well that depends on how much you want to sell it for

do you reasearch and price it relative to others on ebay
use the buy it now button at the relative price you want for it(in line with same make model)

i generally list for a minimum of 5 days but 10 is to long

if its not unlocked think about getting it unlocked as this believe it or not does attract more buyers.

postage costs at a reasonable price i.e the weight of a k800 special delivery would cost you £5.75 to post so realistic price for postage costs would be £6.50 for the postage and packaging materials

do however as the gentleman says above state you will not post outside uk

and if you dont want to go to all that trouble i will buy it from you

I always time my phone auctions so I can watch the last hour or so. There's always some 0-rated wally who bids, and I always manually cancel their bid.
Make sure you know how to do this.
  • I had a great idea to stop the wallies from bidding not buying.

I listed with a BIN and immediate payment required - hopefully it'll work.

Only thing is - how do you list for 1 day - my options started at 3 days ???

If you do get it unlocked, photograph from all angles, including box contents, take note of all serial numbers and IMIE numbers. Note all numbers even if you don't unlock and open box. Trust no-one on E-bay where large values are concerned.

When it does sell please remember to send it special delivery and with the correct amount of insurance. Do not offer any other postage methods, the insurance is to protect you, not the buyer.

Don't forget that, if it's not selling, you can revise your item to change the duration to 5 days, then 7, then 10 so long as you do it before the last 12 hours of each of those timeframes.

    If that makes sense :)
