Renewal from Kwik Fit Insurance

Hi,

During the previous year I have had car insurance from Kwik-Fit. Their quotes have usually been pretty good - however I have just received my renewal and the new quote is for £430. If I pay by monthly Direct Debit - The amount increases to £490 ( +£60 interest = 35.4 % APR !!)

I have just been on their website to request a new quote directly, and the premium comes to £344 - for exactly the same cover. This represents a saving on the renewal quote of £86.

Could I just buy this policy at this price when my current policy expires at the end of the month, or would I be inelligble for this as I am not a new client?

I have been on confused.com etc - and this online quote from Kwik Fit is the best one so far for me.

Any advice on how to play this one would be welcome.

Regards

Savedup.

Nope, you should be fine taking out the new policy (I don't know of any quotes which are for 'new customers only'). Give Kwik Fit a ring and check the details they have for you against the ones you gave on the website. Often it is easy to think some detail is irrelevant but can actually affect your quote.

If all the details are the same, ask if you can have the web price to save the hassle of having to set up a new policy. If they agree, renew it as usual, if not then just go to the website!

    Indeed OP

There is nothing to stop you doing that. Tell them first- they may lower the price like the other post said to save you money. If not- go online. You normally get an online discount hence you can get it cheaper than your renewal price

    cheers
