I recently bought a lawn rake from argos which is brilliant for removing the moss from my lawn. I have collected bin liners full of this moss which I was going to get rid of until my husband suggested using in hanging baskets lining. Is this a good idea. I know you can buy moss lining for your basket but is it the same stuff or does it need to be treated,

Advice would most helpful

Thanks

Not the same stuff but you can use it. Cardboard is just as good and is bio degradable so i just use that.

Yes you can - works fine ....just line the basket with a thick layer of the moss and then cut a piece of plastic from a compost bag to use as a liner to hold the compost (not forgetting to put a few holes in it for drainage).
