Central heating, what is this part called ?

I've discovered a leak on a valve ( is it a valve ?) and this may be the cause of all our heating troubles, the thing is I don't have a clue what this component is called and until I find out I can't search for a new one. I hope someone can help asap.

From your photo it looks like it’s an “Air Separator”
An Air Separator helps collect any air that is present in the system & lets it escape out of the vent pipe.
It may be possible to repair your unit....
If it’s made from copper (difficult to tell from the photo) it could just need a solder repair….this would require the system to be drained down.
If it can’t be fixed it may be tricky finding a new unit the same as the one you have fitted as they come in all shapes & sizes so it’s quite likely that some of the pipe work will have to be altered to fit a new unit.
