Brilliant way to make a point!

Gamestation decided to highlight the fact that many, many people don't bother to read terms and conditions...

Excellent, made me laugh! Wonder if any MSErs noticed and got the £5? :D

Yeah, I got that - but april fools or not, still a fab way to highlight an ongoing issue of people not bothering to read T's and C's!!

Not really, unfair T&C aren't enforceable so nothing terrible is going to happen to you if you don't read them.

Trouble is it's not proving much of a point. Nobody reads the Ts&Cs of every establishment they transact with, it would be practically impossible and a complete waste of time. The only time Ts&Cs should be read is when entering into an unfamiliar contractual situation and / or one where you stand to lose a lot if you misinterpret them.

Here are Gamestation's terms and conditions:

    http://www.gamestation.co.uk/Help/TermsAndConditions/

Amazingly their T&C is a mammoth of 4,632 words long and would take about 11 sheets of A4 paper if printed, I don't think I've ever T&C of that size on a retail website. Also it seems they don't allow you to even READ the T&C unless you enable cookies both for them and a third party marketing website, buy why?

I think the real point here is that GameStation's T&C is so pointlessly huge, padded out and difficult to read (or even access) that very few people were able to read it and claim the £5.

People soon complain about T's&C's they didn't bother to read when something goes wrong... and no, I don't read all the T's&C's of EVERYTHING I do - so I'm just as liable to be caught out as the next person! My soul would've been well and truly sold in that case :D

I seem to be one of the few that found this funny - good on Gamestation for having a sense of humour! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
