This is why we need you on FB - we just couldn't decide, and I'm still not sure!
Im sorry, but you seem to be insinuating that you are discussing the OP on a different resource- for example facebook?
If so I have to say this is utterly nasty and in any case Ive reported you to abuse again so tjhey can investigate as your behaviour doesn't seem to be inkeeping with the general advice to "be nice to all moneysavers" Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Don't be so silly. Had you asked me to clarify, rather than just assuming, I would have explained that we were discussing the OP's situation. I am not aware of any part of the rules that prohibits us from doing this?
You may have neglected to notice that several regular members on this board give up a lot of our own time to help others. We don't know all the answers, and sometimes we ask each other for input away from the board. It is called being helpful, something you rarely are on this board. Indeed, some would say that you only read it to pick fault.
I am sure that when Abuse look at this thread they will see all of the help I have given the OP. I trust you are going to give the same input?Gone ... or have I?0 -

I dont have any input.
If I dont have anything useful to say then I dont.
I am not, nor do I pretend to be an expert on everything. I just dont like nasty negative projecting behaviour, thats all. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Get over yourself! There is only one person being nasty here, and it is not me. You seem to have some bizarre problem with me. If you do not like what I write, feel free to put me on Ignore.
If you do not wish to put me on Ignore, perhaps you would like to read my posts on this thread. You might learn something that you can then use to give constructive input on future threads, rather than just attempting to take them off topic.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Try to resist doing this if you end up on JSA. The links to threads on the Discussion Time forum I posted earlier which discusses how precarious it is for a single person in self-contained accommodation to live on this sum and means every penny must be accounted for.
Also, remember that you'll generally need around £1100 or so upfront before you move in - one months rent, one months deposit, plus expenses for the agency fees and removals, and don't forget to have a stash set aside for utilities, telecoms/broadband, contents insurance and council tax.
Also note that letting agents will have a basic formula to determine if your employment income is sufficient to afford the rent. I can't remember what their rule of thumb is but they look for a particular percentage or ratio of the tenants wage to the rental cost - someone on the Housing forum will know what this is.0 -

excellent post, thankyou. you summed it all up nicely.
yes its around £1100, from the two quotes ive gotten so far, the hard cash you need to make the move.
one agency said if your credit check is not good, you lose your fee and you cant go ahead with flat. Nightmare. Were talking between £100 to £200.
Do the letting agency call up your employer for a reference?
or do we just show them our bank statments and or employment contract??
my bank balance is always low and often overdrawn, is this good enough reason for letting agency to decline my offer to rent???
utilities, yes, i dont plan on having a tv, broadband yes,
contents insurance, yes. I def will need to be insured for my personal belongings, how much are we talking roughly?????
utilities, cost to set them up? or just get billed on usage?
sorry for all questions.0
